Exclusive: HHS launches project to speed up clinical trials

The Trump administration launched SURPASS, a program to speed up clinical trials and cut drug development costs. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and ARPA-H Director Alicia Jackson unveiled the effort in Austin, Texas, with CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz and FDA Acting Commissioner Kyle Diamantas attending. ARPA-H will solicit proposals from teams including drug sponsors, funding winners over five years to test innovative trial designs.
