PHP will release a patch at 14:00 UTC on October 21 for two critical flaws rated 9.2 out of 10, collectively called PHP2Shell. The security firm that suggested a workaround now says it is insufficient alone. Until the fix is installed, no full protection exists, and the widely shared setting does not block the vulnerabilities on its own.
