Can South Korea Won Stablecoins Make the Won Freely Convertible?

South Korea is pushing to make the Korean won globally convertible through won stablecoins. On July 19, a roadmap from the Financial Services Commission, Bank of Korea, Financial Supervisory Service, and Korea Securities Depository outlined an integrated strategy combining stablecoins with traditional financial infrastructure to enhance won convertibility.
