Expel researchers attributed the April 2026 DigiCert security incident to a threat group called CylindricalCanine, a sub-group of GoldenEyeDog (aka APT-Q-27). The Chinese cybercrime group, known for targeting gambling and gaming sectors, is linked to code-signing certificate theft. Technical details of the breach were shared by Expel.
