Retiring Michigan senator to lead USC politics center

Retiring Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) will join the University of Southern California as a professor and co-director of its politics program, the school announced. Peters will co-lead the Center for the Political Future alongside Republican strategist Mike Murphy. He leaves the Senate at the end of this term after serving Michigan since 2015.
