Coinbase Expands Derivatives Reach Under Watchful Rules

Coinbase received CFTC approval to launch Coinbase Clearing LLC as a US derivatives clearinghouse. The approval allows Coinbase to clear fully collateralized futures, options on futures, and swaps. Leveraged products are excluded, so some contracts will still use outside partners. This completes Coinbase's regulated derivatives setup across brokerage, exchange, and clearing.
