Tennessee governor halts executions after Christa Gail Pike survives lethal injection

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee halted executions for the rest of the year after officials failed to put Christa Gail Pike to death Wednesday for a 1995 murder. Two doses of a lethal drug were administered but the execution was not completed. Lee's order pauses all scheduled executions in the state.
