EU Securities Watchdog Puts AI and Tokenization on Supervisors’ Agenda for 2027

ESMA, the EU securities watchdog, added AI and tokenization to its supervisory priorities for 2027. National regulators will catalog client-facing uses of AI and tokenized products, then run initial checks on the most exposed firms. The initiative aims to address risks from emerging technologies in financial markets.
