Citizen Lab Traces Zero-Click Candiru Spyware Infections at Al Jazeera to Targeted Online Ads

Israeli spyware maker Candiru infected devices at Al Jazeera through ordinary online ads, requiring no user interaction, researchers at Citizen Lab said Thursday. The hidden attack code ran as soon as an ad loaded, even when out of sight. The zero-click attacks targeted the news network, raising concerns about surveillance.
