US aircraft carrier deploys to Middle East to relieve USS George Washington

The USS Theodore Roosevelt, a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, departed San Diego on Sunday to relieve the USS George Washington in the Middle East amid tensions with Iran. The carrier, flagship of Carrier Strike Group 9, will provide a substitute for the Japan-based carrier, according to ship-watcher WarshipCam.
