Developers of the BLAKE2b Bitcoin fork, which split from Bitcoin on Aug. 8, 2026, plan to make miners wait 45 days before unlocking newly mined coins. The minority chain, also known as BTCB2, Bitcoin BIP-110, or XBT, has dropped 84% below its all-time high. The proposal aims to alter miner incentives.
