Kaspa's Toccata upgrade in late June 2026 added native smart contracts, KRC-20 tokens, and zero-knowledge verification. The network now targets 100 blocks per second via DAGKnight and VProgs, following the Crescendo hard fork that reached 10 BPS in 2025. A Layer 2 ecosystem is forming, though not without friction.
