Hegseth wants a livestream execution. Here's how firing squads work

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth plans to livestream the December execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan by firing squad, which would be the first public U.S. execution in about 90 years. President Trump expressed doubt it will happen, and House Speaker Mike Johnson and Vice President Vance voiced concerns. Firing squad executions are rare, with only six since 1977.
