Americans Lost $11 Billion to Crypto Scams Last Year. Most of It Ended at a Gas Station

Americans lost over $11.366 billion to crypto scams in 2025, with 181,565 complaints filed, according to the FBI IC3. Crypto kiosks accounted for $389 million in losses across 13,460 complaints, and victims aged 60 and older lost $257.4 million. Crypto made up over half of total internet-crime losses of $20.877 billion.
