Senate rabble-rousers are gaining power

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) will chair the Budget Committee, Senate Republicans agreed Tuesday. Johnson also chairs the Homeland Security subcommittee on investigations. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) is next in line for the Judiciary Committee gavel. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) chairs the Homeland Security Committee and recently voted 'no' on Markwayne Mullin. Hardline conservatives are gaining power atop key Senate committees.
