CFTC Approves Coinbase’s Own Clearinghouse, but Only for Fully Collateralized Contracts

The CFTC approved Coinbase's own clearinghouse, completing its U.S. derivatives lineup of exchange, broker, and clearinghouse. However, the approval only covers fully collateralized contracts. Margined derivatives and planned stock perpetuals will still rely on outside partners, limiting the scope of Coinbase's self-clearing capabilities.
