UK Picks Six Banks to Lead First Digital Government Bond

The UK Treasury named six banks as joint lead managers for a pilot digital government bond called DIGIT. The banks are Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, Morgan Stanley, NatWest and RBC Capital Markets. The bond will run on HSBC's Orion platform inside the Digital Securities Sandbox, with pilot issuance expected by Q1 2027.
