Americans' trust in the food safety net is spoiling

A new Gallup poll shows less than half of U.S. adults have confidence in the federal government to ensure food safety, with 11% having a great deal and 36% a fair amount. Confidence in grocery store food fell to a record low of 65%, down from 81% in 2019. The decline is driven by Democrats and independents.
