The most pressing midterm issues for rural voters

A new AP/KFF poll of 2,241 rural registered voters finds 69% say cost of living is extremely important for 2026 midterm candidates to address, followed by health care costs (56%) and fraud in government programs (54%). Three-quarters rate the cost of living as a top concern, with 67% worried about gas or transportation costs.
