A new Carolina Forward poll shows Democrat Roy Cooper leading Republican Michael Whatley by 7 points in the North Carolina Senate race. Half of 915 respondents support Cooper with under three months until the general election. The survey was conducted by left-leaning Change Research. Cooper is a former two-term North Carolina governor.
