Twenty scholars and artists have won MacArthur Fellowships, including a historian who studies racial wage gaps and a saxophonist whose live performances include a chef. Each recipient receives an $800,000 no-strings-attached grant from the philanthropic group, awarded annually to support their creative and intellectual work.
