FakeGit malware campaign returns with 17,610 malicious GitHub repos

The FakeGit campaign has reactivated with over 17,610 malicious GitHub repositories distributing the SmartLoader malware, which delivers the StealC infostealer. The campaign, which first appeared earlier this month, continues to lure developers into downloading compromised code from seemingly legitimate repositories.
