ECB Tests Tokenized Bonds Through New Pontes Platform

The ECB plans to invest a small share of its own funds in tokenized securities, including tokenized bonds, settling through the new Pontes platform. Pontes links blockchain-based markets with central bank money. Initial investments will focus on euro-denominated securities from governments, agencies, and European institutions. Thirteen market participants and four DLT platform operators joined Pontes.
