GOP LOSES SENATE IN MIDTERMS DEBACLE

Republicans lost Senate seats in South Carolina, Kansas, Texas, and Iowa, AP projects, giving Democrats control of the Senate and within reach of the House. In Texas, James Talarico defeated Ken Paxton, and Greg Abbott conceded to Gina Hinojosa. Adam Hamilton flipped Kansas's longest-held GOP seat, ending a 94-year drought. Sherrod Brown defeated Jon Husted in Ohio, and Roy Cooper beat Michael Whatley in North Carolina.
