Arizona Senate president who gave 2020 election records to FBI wins attorney general GOP primary

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen (R), who complied with a federal grand jury subpoena and gave the FBI 2020 election records in March, won the Republican nomination for attorney general on July 21, 2026. He will face incumbent Kris Mayes (D) in November. Petersen has served as top Senate Republican since 2023.
