Coinbase advances Bitcoin’s post-quantum readiness while holding about 5% of BTC

Coinbase is advancing Bitcoin's post-quantum readiness, a multi-year transition involving wallets, custody systems and network validation. The custodian holds about 5% of all BTC. Quantum computing poses a potential future threat to the classical cryptography securing Bitcoin, and the transition must also address funds whose owners cannot move them.
