Trump's new White House counsel could soon face a subpoena fight

President Trump announced White House staff secretary Will Scharf will become White House counsel on Sept. 1. Scharf, a former Trump personal lawyer, replaces David Warrington. The role begins two months before midterms, potentially placing Scharf at the center of subpoena fights if Democrats win the House. Scharf also chairs the National Capital Planning Commission.
