Mazama Energy, backed by Khosla, raised $135 million to drill three miles underground for superhot-rock geothermal energy. One well can generate 15 MW of electricity around the clock, the company said. The funding will support deeper drilling into the resource, which offers a consistent, carbon-free power source.
