SCOTUS says Tennessee can move forward with Christa Pike's execution

The U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way for Tennessee to execute death row inmate Christa Pike, reversing a federal appeals court stay. The high court's two-sentence order came after the 6th Circuit had issued a short stay about an hour before Pike's scheduled 10am lethal injection in Nashville. Three liberal justices dissented. The Tennessee attorney general's office had asked the Supreme Court to intervene.
