Congress' disappearing town halls

Congressional town halls are becoming rare during August recess. Only 11 lawmakers have scheduled town halls for the rest of August, per LegiStorm. Rep. Mike Flood (R-Neb.) continues holding open forums, with attendance dropping from ~750 last year to 235-315 this year. Last year's confrontations over DOGE, federal layoffs and spending cuts led many lawmakers to cancel events.
