Ethereum could verify complex cryptography without carrying every original signature or proof inside its blocks under EIP-8288, backed by Vitalik Buterin on October 19, 2026. The proposal would move much of that work outside the network's main execution process, combining proofs before block inclusion rather than repeatedly adding specialized verification functions, potentially keeping 2–3 KB signature data out of blocks.
