Fake Software Installers Disable Windows Update and Weaken Microsoft Defender

An active malware campaign uses bogus software-download websites to impersonate trusted vendors and distribute malicious installers. Microsoft says the campaign has compromised multiple organizations, primarily affecting China-based operations of multinationals and Chinese-speaking users.
