The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to stop the execution of Tennessee inmate Christa Pike, convicted in the 1995 murder of a teenage classmate, clearing the way for the state's first execution of a woman in 200 years. Pike, 50, is scheduled for lethal injection at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution.
