Synagogues build a new security playbook as antisemitic attacks intensify

Synagogues across the U.S. are training congregants as volunteer security teams as antisemitic assaults hit record levels. Physical assaults against Jews hit a 46-year high in 2025. Over 7,100 active volunteers have been trained by the Community Security Service. Recent incidents include a double stabbing in New York and swastikas painted at a California temple.
