Solo dining finds its moment

Solo dining reservations jumped 23% over the past year, according to booking app OpenTable. Solo diners spend $94 on average, up 7% year over year, compared to $60 per person across all party sizes. Thursday solo reservations rose 25%, and 6 p.m. bookings are the most popular. Veronica Selzler, a Washington, D.C., resident, said she regularly takes herself on solo dates.
