Anza scheduled Solana's Alpenglow consensus switch for mainnet on Oct. 21. The move off TowerBFT will occur in a single slot, reducing finality to about 150 milliseconds. Alpenglow ran on testnet and devnet last month, and the upgrade aims to improve network performance and user experience.
