OCC Urges Community Banks to Enter Stablecoin Payments Market Under GENIUS Act

The OCC issued guidance on GENIUS Act compliance for payment stablecoin issuers and encouraged community banks to apply to become permitted issuers or have subsidiaries do so. This move aims to bring more traditional financial institutions into the stablecoin payments market.
