Crypto: Solana Targets Lightning-Fast 200ms Blocks

Solana is set to cut its block time from 250 to 200 milliseconds during epoch 1053, expected October 9, completing an acceleration begun in August. At this pace, five block production opportunities appear per second, up from 2.5 at 400 ms. The network gets faster, but theoretical capacity does not double.
