Anthropic warned that small AI models could soon self-replicate on IoT devices like smart ovens and off-brand Android TV boxes, forming autonomous, self-propagating worm botnets that are challenging to shut down. The frontier AI lab said there is no centralized point to shut off, posing a growing security threat.
