Media freedom perceptions hit record low: Survey

A new Gallup poll shows Americans' perceptions of media freedom have hit a record low, with 69 percent saying there is a lot of media freedom in the U.S., the lowest since the question was first asked nearly 20 years ago. The figure is down 6 points from the previous reading, reflecting growing skepticism about press independence.
