Eight people were killed when a charter airplane crashed near the Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Site Airport in remote southwest Alaska on Thursday afternoon, according to the FAA. The crash occurred at a U.S. Air Force military airstrip. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and authorities have not released the identities of the victims.
