EU stablecoin regulation gives platforms 3 months to resolve unauthorized holdings

EU crypto platforms have until January 8, 2027, to resolve customer holdings of unauthorized stablecoins under guidance issued on October 8 by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). The enforcement timetable for EU stablecoin regulation gives firms up to three months to wind down exposure, while they stop services that let customers acquire more.
