French Lawmakers Back Tax on Crypto-to-Stablecoin Swaps by a Single Vote

French lawmakers backed a tax on crypto-to-stablecoin swaps by a single vote, 38 to 37, in the National Assembly on Oct. 16. The amendment to France's 2027 budget still faces the rest of the budget process before any swap into a stablecoin is taxed.
