Some WordPress sites remain vulnerable during the installation of a fix for an actively exploited flaw, researcher Umut Bayram of Picus Security found. The update unpacks files using the site's old, unpatched code, allowing attackers to execute code on the server if they strike at the right moment. Bayram advises blocking web access during the update process.
