Georgia shatters its Day 1 early voting record for a midterm

Georgia set a midterm record on the first day of early voting Tuesday, with more than 188,000 ballots cast — about 50,000 more than Day 1 in 2022, per the secretary of state's office. Black voters drove the high turnout, making up more than a third of the total.
