Microsoft enables Windows settings backup by default for orgs

Microsoft enabled Windows settings backup and restore by default on all Microsoft Entra-joined or hybrid-joined enterprise systems upgraded to Windows 11 26H2. The change means organizations will automatically back up user settings to the cloud, simplifying recovery after device resets or migrations. IT admins can still disable the feature via policy, but the default shift aims to reduce data loss and streamline onboarding for managed fleets.
