ECB Launches Pontes Platform for Tokenized Asset Settlement in Central Bank Money

The European Central Bank launched Pontes, enabling eligible institutions to settle tokenized assets in central bank money. Pontes connects distributed-ledger platforms with the Eurosystem's TARGET payment infrastructure, offering tokenized bonds, funds, and other assets an alternative to stablecoins and tokenized commercial bank deposits for settlement.
