AI tools are aiding would-be spies

Federal prosecutors charged Abdulrahman Alfozan, a Saudi national and OpenAI engineer since July 2025, with allegedly attempting to intercept private conversations at OpenAI. The company found a surreptitious audio recording device in an executive conference room. Investigators allege Alfozan used AI tools to research meeting rooms and develop recording equipment.
