Uber's robotaxi edge: human drivers

Uber is betting on a hybrid network of robotaxis and human drivers to make autonomous vehicles profitable. The company says robotaxis are additional supply, not a substitute, lowering prices and wait times to boost demand. Uber's president of autonomous mobility, Sarfraz Maredia, acknowledged robotaxi economics remain unproven.
