Jewish institutions' security spending tops $1 billion as antisemitism persists

Security spending at Jewish synagogues, schools, and community centers has surpassed $1 billion annually for the first time, reaching $1.02 billion per new estimates from the Jewish Federations of North America. That is a 33% increase from $765 million in 2024. Over 4,500 institutions spend an average of $225,000 each on guards, cameras, and upgrades.
